Disney’s Elementals

LookingUp

This is the second trip into Florida’s Walt Disney World that has me pondering the types of fairies and other elementals hanging out in Walt’s woods. During the bus ride from the resort to park, I was gazing out the window relaxed, excited for our day at the happiest place in the world. Typically I can see (in my minds eye) the spirits in the wooded patches. Not too many elementals come close to the roadside, not many are eager to participate in human activities or looking for attention. Like us, they peer from behind cover to see what is going on and sometimes venturing out the front door to have a better look.  I have found over the years, there are specific pockets of woodland inhabitance throughout a patch of woods. Why elementals do not mimic urban sprawl, my guess is the area chosen is ideal for life and the group enjoys a particular spot to suit their needs. Sometimes, as a passenger driving by, I get a clear picture of what lurks in the woods but I could not categorize the fae groups noticed in Disney. What registered with me did not fit into a specific category or match up with the features I have seen before. They were not Fairies like I am used to seeing, nor were they Dwarves or Elves as typically associated from my mental vaults. What came to me as I questioned who I was observing, these beings are specific to Disney. The most magical place on earth has developed their own style and form of woodland beings!

FairyWatering

The energy, feel of the friends’ in the woods was liking to a second cousin. I recognized all of them but had to pause because the features were different. I am honored a few stepped forward to say “hello” to me as I went by. Even now as I write this, love is being sent their way for the consideration shown to me, a human. To help build your communications with the unseen world, do a deed to benefit wellbeing. Many humans lack compassion for the earth and it’s water systems. Be the person who is thoughtful and caring to nature. Pick up garbage even though it is not yours. Become mindful with what fertilizers or weed prevention you are putting on your lawn. Think more about the soap used to wash your car with. Know, like your lawn, it will adventurually get into the water system. Communication is held in all sorts of ways. Actions are one of the best examples to insure better relationships with neighbors. Love your neighbors. Treat them with equal respect by appreciating nature and all it does for us without asking much in return. Enjoy a healthy communication with the benefit of life in balance.

The Rite of Passage

evening clouds

There are many honorable moments that happen throughout our lives. If we are lucky, when the opportunities arrive, the event will have our attention and respect to notice the celebratory gift before us. Myself along with many other family members were able to witness my father’s passing a few days ago. The mental imagery from a psychic point of view is something I would like to document as well as share with you. Death should not be feared or thought of as problematic, yet embraced with respect and dignity to the best of our abilities. Because of what I believe to be true, I feel it is important to share, helping assist others with the passing to the next level of existence.

My father of 76 years was able to make a transition into the energetic realm without much difficulty, in my opinion. I feel having many of his loved ones present during death only helped. Sure it was emotionally trying but we all didn’t forbid him to leave us physically. My dad is the second person I’ve been with while they were dying. From my experiences with metaphysical practices, I was able to assist making sure to do what was necessary to help with the transition.

The process was quick with dad and I used my instincts not asking for permission to do certain things I deemed appropriate. When the nurse (an angel in a human’s skin) came in, I did repeat what was said out loud in a stronger voice to make sure my dad heard. Raising the vibration of love and compassion mixed with acceptance for the inevitable. The importance of knowing what was going on by all in the room made a difference for the better in comfort, knowledge and respect as a whole. Our family physician came in twice during his rounds making everything easier for my mother along with us as well. Everything seemed to be a group effort, the way life should be without one person carrying the burden of “X”.

Metaphysically, the first inkling was to open up the window’s mini-blinds. I did this casually without saying anything to those in the room with me. Simply going over to the window and twirling the pole to open the slats welcoming in the morning light. I felt guided to create a place for movement between the worlds. So grateful to have a room with a window! The next thing that crossed my mind was to make him more comfortable and what better way then to play some Irish music. My brother questioned this move I did automatically, to which I replied, “Dad loves music and it will bring him comfort” helping with all of our angst in the long run. Both of these actions were done with deliberate intention thus helping the magic of life to be further fulfilled with the rites of passage.

As family members were summoned, morphine increased (know he wasn’t uncomfortable, only wanted to talk but couldn’t physically thus the furrowed brow misunderstood as discomfort… and I didn’t press the issue for the increase cause he would have held on longer) the mental imagery was more vivid with typical guests one would expect to appear during a death. Because the Irish music was playing, in his good ear, the Banshee came forth. When she arrived, I said out loud, “Okay, trying to handle the Banshee in the room” while my mom, brother, and spouse looked at me with questions in their eyes and sealed lips. Her yell wasn’t unpleasant, just more-so startling because it was my first time hearing her in this lifetime. I owe my dear friend for bringing the folklore from Ireland to my attention on this one. In my minds eye, she appeared simply as a 4 foot, medium built, cloaked, brown haired woman in her mid 40’s. I was not afraid of her, rather startled if I am to be honest. Her announcement for impending death was something I was not ready to accept. Fear is a tricky monster and unfortunately it attaches itself to things that should not be classified as fearful (which is what I’ve been learning the past week).

220px-Banshee

Shortly after the Banshee sounded, I noticed The Grim Reaper standing in the hallway. This vision was not startling and had more of a sense of passage with calmness to him. Not sure if I was giving the Reaper a sex because of my beliefs or if a sex is assigned to the being. The Banshee was female but not typical as we humans know a female to be. This is true of the Reaper too. I think energetic beings take on the persona we idealize them with despite what they are truly are made of. Regardless, I did say out loud, “The Grim Reaper is here.” to which my brother replied, “Oh, Okay!” I don’t blame him one bit for the curt statement cause it isn’t something one saids typically. Actually, I was surprised that I said it out loud. Because I was taken back from the appearances and needing to voice things going on to help me with the process, perhaps I should have been more quite. Yet it’s not my personality to keep things lock inside. However, now thinking of my vocalizations, it may have not helped others and should have been something best kept to myself to be expressed at a later time.

At this point, my father’s sister had shown up along with my sister in law (whom I love dearly). I was more cautious with what I said out loud because of the mix of family bringing the count to nine in the room. At my fathers side, I told him in a strong voice (being his morphine increased to 6 milligrams) who had come to stay by his bedside. Not caring about what others thought about my motives, I was proud and honored to assist him with understanding the shifts in the Intensive Care Unit room he was in. Later I shared with my mother the vision of many backyard wild animals who ran through the room, out the window, guiding and ushering the next stage. My guess on the animals passing by was a testament of the care we shared with all of the outdoor animals our cats, windows, or other kill on our watch. Many were buried in the back yard or placed in the woods. The energetic recognition of my dear friend who stood up against the wall next to my mother for support along with my paternal grandfather who stopped by to show the way for his son into the next level of existence. All apparitions playing a part to usher a kind and loving soul to another field.

Trinity

My mother has summoned a priest to issue the last catholic rites. I had no choice but to drop to my knees and pray for an understanding father to not bind my father to his physical body but rather to help guide his transition to the next world with grace. I did not protest this catholic rite despite my misgivings of the ceremony, it was my mother’s wishes and I knew my dad and I would overcome misguided notions, superseding the inevitable. The man who came to administer the final rite was kind without pomp and circumstance. Eternally grateful for the person to administer and bond us all forever in prayer.

The last moments of my father’s physical life was my sister-in-law playing her children’s video in his ear. Their dad, her husband, my brother was away for work the other week and she recorded the 4 kids (aged 3 to 8 yrs.) saying hello to their dad during dinner. Her timing, sharing the voices of grandchildren is what made it possible for the transition of her father-in-law to take place. Not a moment too soon or too late; an absolute perfectly impeccable move on her part to assist. Spellbindingly magnificently choreographed, a man of great love was released from a physical body on the vibration of children’s voices to the after life.

Feeling the Vibe

I fell in love with this house the first time I saw it on the Internet

Our house is up for sale and know it’s sending out the vibe to the future owners to notice and come over and have a look! There are all types of words to use when expressing a feeling or event. I like using vibe because vibration means pressure waves, something making unseen but noticeable motion. Vibrations are usually detected by a variety of our senses. Vibe covers a lot of metaphysical territory and is a sweet hip 60’s retro word too.

Lately, I’ve had a few people tell me that my energy has a good feeling. The compliments have caught me off guard yet have been an indicator to the positive vibes sent out when I’m conducting energy work or just having a casual conversation. With the sale of our first home, it is very important to me to keep up the good vibes within and without the property. My heart sang when my real estate agent said to me this morning, “… the house has a good energy to it…” giving me hope in reaching the next owner though metaphysical means along with the common rituals of selling a house.

I do have a small gong outside of my front door which I strike to carry the sentiment or positive vibe I want to share with the world.

The past few months the house has been on the market have been quiet. Our original realtor made a career change prompting us to seek out a new agent. Reflecting on how we have gotten to this day and enjoying the turn of events only promotes the joy I feel. I believe when we are absolutely suppose to be aware of something, it will ring true in a very recognizable way. It was a very good day today and wanted to share in the good vibes!

My take on magic wands.

For the past few years, I’ve conducted wand making workshops. The store where I’m offering my home-based workshops would like a demonstration of how to use a wand in energy work. Next month I will be holding a workshop introducing wand work to people who are interested. I plan on bringing the handout I give to the making group and will use that as my blue index cards. I would like to make it very causal with lots of participation, actually this is how I conduct many of my workshops. Below is a writing on wands and pretty close to what one would expect from attending.

I crafted my own wand because I wanted one and could not find any that seemed right for me, as simple as that. I don’t belong to a specific religious group or craft, I wanted something that would amplify my wishes and needed a wand.

In my bag of White Sage there was a stem about 7 inches long. I found it by unraveling one of my sage bundles. That seemed to be the perfect base for a wand, especially since White Sage has clearing properties and would be beneficial to keep the wand clear at all times. I am against using glue (another reason for not purchasing in shops) therefore beads would be strung and wrapped around. Looking through my life long bead collection I chose ones I loved, making sure a variety was incorporated ensuring the most magic and beauty a wand could contain.

“What can you use a wand for?” is a common question I’m asked. Again, the answer is simple, “What ever your heart desires!” I use the wand above to make wishes. When I need support, the wand travels with me. Sitting on the kitchen window sill fills the wand with energy and sparkles when the sun hits it just right. My wands make me happy and feeling special. Taking aim at what I’m striving to achieve is more doable with a wand in hand.

There are several I have crafted for myself and several I have given as gifts, along with consigning them. All are unique, even those that seem to be similar in color or structure had a different feeling about them. I have developed a wand making workshop, none of those are quite the same either. The amazement and joy I get from hosting a workshop or adorning a tree branch is something to be experienced because it’s difficult to put it into words. I’ve tried to give descriptions for advertising and have worked on signage for displays but it really is something to participate in to get the full understanding.

A list of my personal wands to date:

My First Wand     (rewrapped once cause of a life lesson learned)

Ancestor Wand   (adorned with button collections of women present and past)

Fairy Wand          (sparkles, shimmers and dangling chip stones)

Quarts Point Wand     (nickname, The Amplifier)

ChakraWand       (Rainbow chip stones and glass seed beads)

Elemental-Series-Wands  (Earth, Fire and Water are completed)

Rocks 101: An Introduction to the Mineral Kingdom

I am reworking the design to the handouts for a workshop I’ve titled, Rocks 101. There are a few classes I have put together over the years, based on what I know and deem to be true. Rocks, minerals, stones, gems… whatever you would like to call them, I love them so. Many friends and family know me as the rock go-to girl and I’m always looking to learn more to better serve. Allas the rock workshops I have attended left me disappointed with no new knowledge or deeper understanding. I don’t mind spending money or traveling but it has to be worth the effort. On all my drives home, I would start to replay the workshop and add or take out parts to make it worth my time. If these people are pitching rock info, why do I feel ripped off? What could be done differently ensuring everyone attending would leave knowing more and reflecting on how it was money well spent. Sure one might detect a hint of arrogance in that statement but it’s unintentional. Another way to word my thought is, “I can teach people about rocks in a way where learning will be more comprehendible and improve ones abilities to understand the mineral kingdom.” After complaining on how the workshops I attended were lack luster, my teacher (for many metaphysical studies) said to me, “You should create a rock workshop” and that was enough to push me to doing so.

Keeping the material familiar enough, making sure the people will remember the names of the stones was the first task to tackle. Birthstones seemed the best way to go about revisiting many common names. My research proved there are many takes on 12 gemstones corresponding with the months of the year. Once I settled on a grouping, it was a matter of getting the minerals.

A scattering of "brilliant" cut diam...

I wanted to have the guests be able to hold each of the minerals being discussed. After all, a hands on approach is one of the best ways to learn about a subject. Using all of our senses would help the information get absorbed in a deeper way. I was able to obtain the majority of stones but a few gems I ask the participants to bring from home. I wish I had enough money to pass around diamonds!

Handouts are one of my favorite things to receive when attending a workshop. The presentations I give have some great take homes and the Rocks 101 is no exception. A 16 page booklet has been designed and created with all sorts of history and lore, facts and beliefs. It’s not the 8×11 paper folded in half type of booklet but each page is standard letter size, stapled in the corner. The layout is baby bear style, not too much and not too little, just the right amount. There is a nifty glossary and a rockin’ reference ensuring future questions get answered or guidance to another path to find the answer.

My teacher has listened to this presentation twice since I developed it 3 years ago and is hinting at a Rocks 201. I will have to let her know I’ve reworked the handouts and give her a new booklet. Maybe some point this year I will start formulating the next level workshop. As of now, towards the end of June, Rocks 101 is scheduled for a road trip making it the first time I’m traveling with the kids (cute way of saying rocks). I’m excited to share my knowledge with others and witness what they pick up from the minerals. Discussion and insight is another component I like my workshops to have.   From rereading all of the booklet’s pages I’m learning more information and become more familiar with the stones to be presented. I look forward to further insight the people attending the class are privy to and growing my knowledge along with them. I love rocks.

Day Three of Aromatherapy Auditing

Sevilla has orange trees everywhere.

Earth Day was the ending date of the level one aromatherapy class I audited over the weekend. The hour long meditation we participated in that morning had a very strong mother earth involvement, unlike any I have felt before. It is always an honor to respect, send love and gratitude to the being (she is very much alive scientifically and metaphysically) who struggles every moment to take care of all of us, regardless of any belief system humans have. Mother earth does a fantastic job, my wish is for everyone to become more respectful towards nature and one another. If anything, taking an aromatherapy class makes a tree hugger out of you for sure!

The Secret Life of Plants
The Secret Life of Plants                 Christopher Bird

4-22-12 A brief break down of the secret life of plants… Body language is a representation of how we feel inside. The unspoken messages we are communication with one another has a lot to do with how we truly feel about that particular subject or topic being discussed. Let’s look at how a plant (bush, tree) talks to us. What conversation are they having with us after all of our years not fully listening to them? If a particular part of the plant was harvested for distilling to make an essence, what could we expect it to assist us with? An orange tree needs specific things to grow up big and strong, we basically need the same things for a healthy life. Though the leaves, oxygen and nutrition is taken in. If that part of the tree was made into an essence chances are it will help improve our body’s respiratory system along with emotionally problems preventing us to fully inhale life. The inner wood of the tree would assist heart issues because it is the center structure of the tree. The bark would represent our skin (as it is the tree’s). An orange, the fruit of the tree, has vitamins, nourishment for our bodies. The rind, peel is protection for the fruit and the essence will help with the body’s immune system while energetically assisting us with personal defense. Seeds represent a new beginning or is reflective of how to deal with a core problem. Now take a look at how the plant (bush, tree) holds itself. Aromatherapy helps to bring more awareness to becoming more flexible, grounding yourself, reaching up high. The flower’s colors indicate symbolism and additional benefits too, don’t overlook that detail. The characteristics of the flower, how it presents itself is another association important to healing physical and mental issues. This is a quick interpretation of conversations available when we choose to listen to the plant kingdom. A brief overview of the myriad of possibilities aromatherapy can help one defeat to regain a healthier, natural life.

After many hours of learning, sampling, sharing, smelling, applying, talking and holding consultation with other students, it was our turn to go ahead and pick an essence for ourselves. There are over 200 bottles to choose from. Someone had chosen the one I was planning t0 take back with me and mediate on, so I had to use my intuition and approach the task the way I should of. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath in, held it for a few seconds exhaled and opened up my eyes and reached out without over annualizing the situation.

The key message from the weekend’s adventure is to listen. Be still and listen. Observe and interpret. Abolish, diminish, expel fear and embrace love. There is no need to second guess, trust and you will always do the right thing. Support is abundant, just ask because it can come to you from many angles.

Day One of Aromatherapy Auditing

I wrote in my journal as I felt inspired to. The following will be a copy with the entries separated into segments. I’m not going to rework the notes into a story, just present it as pieces reiterating a topic talked about or general understanding from experiences, all encompassing. I believe in plants, the earth, animals, us and all other things that appear and not so much to have a conscience. The energy coming from a group of like minded people allows walls to be taken down and a new improved outlook to develop. Learning more about the wonders of nature and the voice of your body only makes me want to speak my mind more and become stronger in my resolve. I love auditing aromatherapy classes!

4-20-12 Family, we are family (nope, I will not be linking the song). The unity of family envelops me, surprises me and brings great comfort at the same time. It is fascination how many of us are the same. When we group together, join, band together the focus becomes clearer and we become stronger, healthier and more alive… wide awake. Aromatherapy helps you to look deeper, explore, fix, change, understand and heal. Aromatherapy helps to open you up, reminding us that we are connected to the earth. The plants will reveal themselves when we allow them to enter and heal our lives.

Cover of The Power of Myth

What you are drawn to tells about your level of inner bliss. Joseph Campbell talks about following your bliss and has used myths to explain what bliss is and what it can be. I understand it to be a guttural resounding approval, important to and for well being for me and others around me, in all circles of life. Past, present and future. Something I believe to be true: When we improve ourselves, others respond. This action and reaction might not always turn out as what we envision or what we desire. Taking a step back and allowing things to fix themselves is positive advancement towards our goal (bliss). Those that are closest to us, their higher selves will notice the shift, allowing the information to channel into the brain and eventually into the soul. A voice of some sort is given to the silent change, we need to listen to hear it’s cry. When one of us is better, we all are improved.

From childhood we are very trusting. All too often trust gets mangled, abused, taken advantage of or is mismanaged in some detrimental way. Trust is very important to human kind, any race for that matter. We learn early on to trust our instants. When that trust is abused, the harder it is to recover from that injury to ones soul.

“Illuminate an instructor that shines the light” said my friend Victoria. Communication is part of why we are who we are. To understand is wisdom. The body is smart. Listen, it’s talking to you every moment of the day.

Connection even though the body is different (has changed) the spirit is still the same. The plants will change to adapt. Their body changes often too, yet remain the same. Work from your overflow point when practicing energy work. Receive first in order to give. Ask any essence and you shall be granted the desired outcome. Ask and no matter what the essences are reported to do, they can alter properties to assist you. Masaru Emoto studied water and one lesson was along the line of the more love, the closer bliss is (my wording). Be kind and thoughtful, trusting and loving towards all, smart and steadfast. Unwavering in your understanding but open to change, allowing new information to come in and educate yourself on all matters.

Aromatherapy Audit Weekend

This weekend I will be auditing a level one aromatherapy class. It’s been over a year since I’ve sat in on a class and feel it will be a powerful few days. My plan was to write a piece for the blog about aromatherapy but have decided to make several entries instead, in an attempt to take you along with me on the journey. There is an apprehension building in a way which is different from say, butterflies in the tummy or sweaty palms. When I feel a sense of resistance mixed with eagerness tied together with interest… I know something big is about to go down. It might be a small thing with a large affect or several medium sized Ah-has’ or possibly the ever frightening enlightenment *gong* growth spurt! Who knows, maybe there will be something in the writings causing a change or shift in yourself, for yourself?

I’ve gotten my level one certification from Wisdom of the Earth back in 2008. One of my teachers will be holding the class and a very good friend of mine will be a student. She’s a bit apprehensive as well. How the class is going to be held will be different from what I’m used to. Back in the day, two people were teaching the material but for this class there is one teacher plus more hours have been added. It will be nice to revisit the essences (the term most often used because the brand does not mix with other materials, it’s the pure essence of the plant) and watch the reactions of those new to the world of aromatherapy.

Why Should I Own a Wand?

The base of this wand is a White Sage stem

This is a question I get asked a lot from people and I hesitate because the answer varies from minute to minute,  person to person. To put it simply, a wand is an extension of who you are and what you can be. They are great for making wishes and getting your point across with gusto. If you think of it, when someone is talking and begins to point they are adding physical punctuation to their story. A finger wag equals more emphasis on what is spoken. Presenters behind a podium are asked to hold down their index finger with the thumb to control their natural wand, I mean to eliminate pointing at anyone. Substitute a wand for that finger and watch out people a  bold statement is directed your way, resonating in every direction.

Another reason to own a wand is for support. I turn to my wands for courage and confidence in many matters. I have various sized wands all created with different intentions. As the days go by the wands get stronger and wiser just like someone who is learning, wanting to improve with every day that goes by. There are several wands I have crafted for myself and several I have given as gifts along with consigning some. All are unique, even those that seem to be similar in color or structure have a different feeling about them, kind of like the way good family and friends are.

I’ve developed a wand making workshop, none of those are quite the same either. The amazement and joy I get from hosting a workshop or adorning a tree branch is something to be experienced. I’ve give descriptions for advertising and have worked on signage for displays but it really is something to participate in to get the full understanding of owning a wand. There is a journey that happens specific for the individual while a relationship is wrapped around what appears to be an inanimate object. A bond is formed before a base is chosen and stone beads are picked out. The action of creating the wand weaves magic, mixing joy and surprise. The finished product is very personal because a lot of who you are and what you want to become and accomplish is what the wand has become an extension of yourself.
