Energy Grid

Energy can be conjured up in many ways. As I am typing this out, I am surrounded by Siri playing a musical station featuring stringed instruments. So lovely how a violin and a viola cut through the air changing vibrations we can feel deeply. Scents attract many species into our space, the nose is keen for an animal’s survival. Essential oils permeate my cells today because I anointed myself before I started writing this blog. A candle glows as oxygen and fire do the tango they have done over thousands of years. Energy involves action in one form or another. We can amply this force by awareness, respect, and involvement (to but name a few ways)!

Grid work is a playful strategy of moving power which is circling us at every moment. Adding good intentions, directing loving suggestions, incorporating pieces of nature helps with coping in day to day life. Turning to the outdoors, taking earth magic and infusing the wonder into our energy field causes shifts in our being. Meditating on the imagery of an energy grid allows ripples and quakes in our mind’s pool of thought. Clarity fused with renewed pep is often the outcome of an energy grid. This is a remote technique and is a fun, colorful way to try out the mystique of shifting day to day life as you know it!

Things that Bring You Comfort, Metaphysically Speaking (part three)

CookieJewelry

Jewelry tends to be worn in close contact with one’s body. This personal connection is different from a stuffed animal’s power yet not do not think it any less. Many of us want to hold something to trigger a memory or receive comfort, typically from a person who has passed on. Objects are further given positive reinforcement by our need to feel love. When jewelry is handed down by generations it carries unique energies stemming from the original owner. A blend of old traditions, beliefs, blood lines, journeys, all enabling the heirloom to become an evolving mastery of life.

These comfort items will always encapsulate the intentions granted onto them for as long as they are in existence. I like to think when I parted with my childhood stuffed animals, the love inside melted down, into the earth. If my cloth companions got incinerated I wished the smoke and vapors blended with the air. As I unpack boxes featuring my ancestors glassware, the importance and pride is not lost on me. Jewelry shared from my mother makes me feel stronger in my core either wearing or simply looking at the gems. Since everything is energy, why not always build an energetic wave in a positive manor? Keep or send comfort things away with love and joy always.

Benefits of a Reiki Grid

antahkaranafemalecardstockOP700F

I have set up two recently and marvel at the power generated from placing quartz crystals in a pattern and drawing Reiki symbols over them (usually done with a wand). Because of my relationship with the mineral kingdom, I typically add other gems to the grid. Each set up is uniquely different. I always have a fun time communicating with the crystals and learning who wants to go where and how the energy should flow by adjusting points and positions. The Antahkarana Symbol (above) is the base for the crystals with other mineral friends joining in and placed here and there.

When I feel the personalized grid is at it’s peak, I take a picture to share with the individual who requested the remote Reiki treatment. For respect of privacy, I do not share any of these photos on social media. Therefore, you probably have not seen this aspect of my energy work I adore. I would be happy to set one up on your behalf! The grid is great for energy balancing, wiggling out stagnancy within our systems, shifting inner focus, healing wounds known and unrealized, giving extra pep to our bodies, and of course many other pieces not fully recognized to assist us to become greater.

Edit adding in February 2018 to share more information on my grid development and set up, please know change is very important with energy work. Nature does not stay the same, life does not stay the same, methods alter and switch. Over the years, I’ve used different designs other than the Antahkarana which I originally learned with. Other metaphysical tools have come in and out of grid set-ups with sound (vibration) being a notable addition to this remote work. A detailed write up and pictures are sent to you daily for as long as the grid is active (minimum of 3 days).

Rock Shows: The Heavy Kind

A good flow of people and not so packed it's uncomfortable. Local rock shows are a great place to mingle with like minded people and pick up some choice possessions to add (or start) a rock collection!

October is the month for my local rock show. I have been a member of the club coming close to a decade now. Last year I stepped down from the role of Vice President of Special Events, a title I held for 6 years. It is always good to change things up and give someone else a chance to make a difference. I am still very active in the goings on and will be volunteering for the up coming show, as I have done for past events. My parents told me we went as a family to the rock club’s show in it’s beginning days, which I have vague memories of. None of us were ever members and it wasn’t until my adult years I joined. Not sure if either of my parents thought I would turn into the crystal believer I am today? A big take away from the years involved with the club is a better understanding of nature. Some things us humans and nature (I’m looking at you mineral kingdom) have in common is noticing, being around to witness change. The ability to see life unfold, develop and then choosing to contribute or be passive with the states of maturity. I believe both life forces offer opportunities, the choice to either release energy or remain quiet.

I have attended a few different shows around New England and still rank my club’s as one of the top 3. The mecca of all rock shows is held during the month of February in Arizona. Everyone tells me I have to go, “There is nothing like it, yards and yards, football fields upon football fields of rocks!” they say. To me rock shows are basically all the same. It’s a coming together, celebrating the majestic-ness found within the earth, under one roof. Some show’s house hundreds of dealers while others have a handful. The conclusion I have come to in regards to a show, size doesn’t matter. Square footage is not the issue, is not the success meter of a show. A good focus for a rock show with heart is who collects the minerals, how they are displayed, traveling conditions, health of the dealers, reasons for selling, location of venue, staff running the show… theses are the things that keep me coming back.

Many shows have spectacular displays featuring larger scaled beauties. Sometimes the displays are to showcase a theme throughout the show. Other reasons simply need no other excuse but to show off the mineral and share the spender which took years to create!

I’m drawn to those who care about their goods quicker than those who don’t have the right things invested working with mother earth. I believe nature looks up to us, fingers always crossed we do better tomorrow. The rocks are her children, the oldest children with the most wisdom and assistance to give to others. People don’t have to buy into the metaphysical aspects of the crystals. Dealers should be respectful and honor the mineral helping with their livelihood. Buyers should be aware of what they are purchasing, especially marveling over the age of the specimen in hand. Love what you have and look forward to sharing with others to bring about more joy and knowledge. Give your local rock show a try. Stop by and visit the information booth about the club hosting the show, you never know what you might unearth!

Quick Share on Rocks: Past display cases

Getting the magic in there with my puppet genie!
Getting the magic in there with my puppet genie!

I’m a member of the local rock club. What we call our annual fundraiser is in the form of the annual rock and mineral show, which I am an active participant. One of the attractions is the stage’s display cases. All club members are encouraged to come up with a display of their choosing. The stage will hold about 15 cases, sized roughly 3 x 2ft.  Our club does not have many rules or regulations in regards to these displays.  Geological location, different forms of a specimen, how to make cabochons, rough verses tumbled, are the common themes running throughout.

This is the first display case showing the minerals and beads threaded into bracelets.

About 4 years ago, I was asked to create a display featuring the metaphysical angle of rock collecting. Open talk about collecting crystals for the soul purpose of using them in energy work or other crafts was not commonly heard at meetings. Because of my beliefs and needing offer other possible modalities to help one another, I agreed. My display case was the first to have metaphysical properties listed and I have been putting one together every year since then. Unfortunately, I don’t always remember to take a picture, so I just have two.

Tools to Assist: Divination

Everyone uses some type of tool to get a job started or completed. Over the years and throughout our life experiences, we learn about all sorts of handy objects to assist us with projects.

Divination was taught to me over a year ago, it is a new process for me, well at least I thought it was. While writing this piece, I’ve realized I have stared at inanimate objects all my life. What was missing was the intention to notice messages coming though.

The August Blue Moon has caused a few different psychic effects for me. Usually the moon influences me two days before totality and 2 days after. Saturday night, the call to gaze into a piece of Blue Aventurine had to be heeded. Using this tool to look into the future and call bits of wisdom to my attention, would be my third time using the divination process.

The messages I got from simply clearing my mind and listening to the first thought or voice that came forward:

Glimmer, glimmer of hope (my interpretation, keep on dreaming)

All things in stride (all is fine, all will unfold in time)

Clean it up (choose better foods for my body)

Go deeper (keep on seeking understanding)

What to Expect from an Energy Session

Sometimes giving too much of an explanation is not necessarily a good thing, especially when you are skeptical to begin with. However, some type of introduction to what you are about to experience can be helpful and even tamp down some of those I don’t know if this is for me feelings. In my opinion, the receiver has to be willing and ready in order for healing energy to be absorbed gracefully. When a first time client comes to me, I typically tell them what to expect from an energy session from me… and it goes a little like this:

You (fully clothed) will be situated in a safe and relaxing environment (my living room) seated in a reclining lounge chair with blankets and pillows. It will not be a massage but every now and then I will place my hands on your arms or legs, which is referred to as “light touch”. Music can be playing or not, it is easy for me to taylor the surroundings to your comfort level.

Because I love the mineral kingdom, rocks are all around this room (as well as the house) and I often used them while conducting energy work. The method that I use is a mixture of modalities that I have learned over the years and the technique is by instinct (rather than by books or notes). Because I believe in the power and energy of rocks, sometimes I will ask you to hold them or will place them under the chair you’re on.

My physic skills have improved allowing for a dialog of sorts to happen between us. I can usually pick up on what your body wants or needs to improve health. I also get  communications which may be important on some level regarding just about anything.  This information, along with other messages, can be shared with you, if you wish. I make a strong attempt to just tell you what I am picking up on and allow you to decipher the messages.

Each healing practitioner is different and has undergone various trainings from teachers and workshops. Just like with many things in life, it might take awhile to find a good match for this type of work. I encourage you to try new things and ask for the sample package if you are not willing to undergo a full session. In my opinion someone who is looking out for your best interest will answer your questions and share information on how they have come to practice energy work.

Rocks 101: An Introduction to the Mineral Kingdom

I am reworking the design to the handouts for a workshop I’ve titled, Rocks 101. There are a few classes I have put together over the years, based on what I know and deem to be true. Rocks, minerals, stones, gems… whatever you would like to call them, I love them so. Many friends and family know me as the rock go-to girl and I’m always looking to learn more to better serve. Allas the rock workshops I have attended left me disappointed with no new knowledge or deeper understanding. I don’t mind spending money or traveling but it has to be worth the effort. On all my drives home, I would start to replay the workshop and add or take out parts to make it worth my time. If these people are pitching rock info, why do I feel ripped off? What could be done differently ensuring everyone attending would leave knowing more and reflecting on how it was money well spent. Sure one might detect a hint of arrogance in that statement but it’s unintentional. Another way to word my thought is, “I can teach people about rocks in a way where learning will be more comprehendible and improve ones abilities to understand the mineral kingdom.” After complaining on how the workshops I attended were lack luster, my teacher (for many metaphysical studies) said to me, “You should create a rock workshop” and that was enough to push me to doing so.

Keeping the material familiar enough, making sure the people will remember the names of the stones was the first task to tackle. Birthstones seemed the best way to go about revisiting many common names. My research proved there are many takes on 12 gemstones corresponding with the months of the year. Once I settled on a grouping, it was a matter of getting the minerals.

A scattering of "brilliant" cut diam...

I wanted to have the guests be able to hold each of the minerals being discussed. After all, a hands on approach is one of the best ways to learn about a subject. Using all of our senses would help the information get absorbed in a deeper way. I was able to obtain the majority of stones but a few gems I ask the participants to bring from home. I wish I had enough money to pass around diamonds!

Handouts are one of my favorite things to receive when attending a workshop. The presentations I give have some great take homes and the Rocks 101 is no exception. A 16 page booklet has been designed and created with all sorts of history and lore, facts and beliefs. It’s not the 8×11 paper folded in half type of booklet but each page is standard letter size, stapled in the corner. The layout is baby bear style, not too much and not too little, just the right amount. There is a nifty glossary and a rockin’ reference ensuring future questions get answered or guidance to another path to find the answer.

My teacher has listened to this presentation twice since I developed it 3 years ago and is hinting at a Rocks 201. I will have to let her know I’ve reworked the handouts and give her a new booklet. Maybe some point this year I will start formulating the next level workshop. As of now, towards the end of June, Rocks 101 is scheduled for a road trip making it the first time I’m traveling with the kids (cute way of saying rocks). I’m excited to share my knowledge with others and witness what they pick up from the minerals. Discussion and insight is another component I like my workshops to have.   From rereading all of the booklet’s pages I’m learning more information and become more familiar with the stones to be presented. I look forward to further insight the people attending the class are privy to and growing my knowledge along with them. I love rocks.
